Homework #1 Response

I think that Alice Rawsthorn is very observant and makes a compelling argument but I don't believe that there is such thing as ruining design. I believe the new designers that changed the old designs in her article just see art differently. There is no one way to create and everyone has a different opinion on what is aesthetically pleasing to their eyes. For example, in her article, she mentions Citreon hiring Landor to redo their logo. They changed the logo from being 2 sharp upturned V's into 2 softer bumps. The new design is more pleasing to some and less pleasing to others. It is all how art is perceived.
